video: Have We Misunderstood Why the Church Gathers?


 

If the church is as much of a mess as it seems like it is, or more likely even worse than it seems, then it may well be good to question what we are going to church for, why we gather, or rather why we should gather.

I really don't see the use of going to a church that is little more than a theater, where the music and the preaching are nothing more than a performance. And while, yes, that includes the more modern seeker types of churches and the holy roller charismatics, that also includes the more refined high-church types of services, because those are little more than performances, too.

This video says many things, and one thing that is encouraged is that believers should gather to encourage each other to love and to good works.
