Humility or Humiliation?

 

 

 Dear Humbuck, Among some branches of the religious humans, it is claimed that one of the great cures for their various social ills is “Preaching against sin!” For my own part, such rhetoric doesn’t concern me, and I will try to explain why from at least a few different levels or angles. When one of these people cry out that we must “Preach against sin!” or when they claim to have found a minister who “Calls sin sin!”, then you need to listen to what they are really saying. What they are really saying is “We must preach against their sins!” Who “they” are is rather open; socialist, progressives, red-pilled white men, woke protesters, warmongers, sexual deviants, repressed puritans, selfish capitalists, selfish communists. Pick any or pick all, depending on the people and the circumstances and whatall.  The point is that “they” are no “we”. It is important to make “they” the problem. “They” are the reason our society is falling into collapse, “they” are the reason there are rio...

 

Dear Humbuck, It was with a bit of amusement that I heard that yet another human is essentially trying to read our mail and our memos and put them out there for all the world to see, as if the world cares much about our concerns. These efforts are for the most part rather asinine, they say more about the man writing them than about us. What I often find most amusing about these writings is how the authors choose to portray us. I especially enjoy the idea that we are so very busy raising future generations, sending them to training institutes and writing many missives to them telling them how to do their jobs well, only to cannibalize them if they suffer even one setback. Of course, it’s all meant to make us look ridiculous, to try to insult and scorn us, but that is no great concern to us. The authors will appeal to someone from long ago who said something like “The devil doesn’t like being laughed at, so laugh at him as often as possible”.   I gave this post that title because to my eyes what these Christian Nationalists are doing is much the same thing the European colonists in the to-be-US did back in the 1600s. One of them, Isker, says at 0:59 "We're building a town". That is not true. The town was already there when they decided to move there. On the town's Wikipedia page, it says the town was established in 1817, as of this date in 2026 over 200 years ago. Much like how the colonists acted a few centuries ago, the current CNs are trying to move into a place already occupied intending to take it over, and we may assume most of the current residents will lose some or all of what they own in this takeover. I find this distasteful. If these CNs want to start their own, then there is plenty of still-undeveloped land out in the west, or there are towns that have been abandoned.
